More snow pics that Picasa2 wouldn't let me download with the others

Just a little snow to make everything pretty!

Snow and sock swap!!

Finally got my socks done for my first ever sock swap! I hope my socks are something this lady will like! I had to use Bartlettyarns from Harmony Maine to let her see what wonderful wool is produced here. Now to get them in the mail!

And we got snow again today. This stuff made driving very slippery today and I know a lot of people are starting their Thanksgiving vacations today here in Maine.
I had to take a ride to the lake to get a couple of things and to shut the refrigerator off...woke up from a sound sleep last night remembering we didn't do that the other day.
There isn't much of it, but it sure makes on hell of a mess until it melts.! More coming Thanksgiving Day! Hope DH doesn't get stuck at work if we get too much of it and the salt and sand won't take care of it. He is one of three that volunteered to work Thursday and Friday. Just keeping my fingers crossed he doesn't get stuck in there working a 16 hour shift instead of 8. We have been invited to his family's place in the next town for TG dinner at 4! I will go without him. ha ha ha

SNOW!! And my rant of the day!

Woke up this morning to find snow on the ground. Not a lot, but it delayed school for an hour. My neighbors granddaughter (9) was outside playing in it and singing. Oh to be that age again and to enjoy the snow and not dread it. The driving is the worst of it because people forget how to drive in it and still the their brakes will work the same and do not allow for extra distance to stop. It won't stay long, but it still means winter is coming and it will so be 40 below zero in a few weeks. And oil prices are well over $3.00 a gallon now. I do not know how we would heat our home if we did not burn wood. The last time we used only oil we used 800 gallons. So it it hits four dollars a gallon as predicted, we would be spending $3200.00 for oil. That is more then we could ever afford! And gas is up to $3.20 a gallon this morning. We will be house bound for sure by the end of the month with those prices. I will have to find something to do soon to help with paying the bills. I don't know how we are all supposed to live with prices like these. GREED!! That is the problem with our world today...everyone for themselves and to hell with the little guy who works their asses off and still can't make ends meet. And no wonder our kids are not leaving home..they can't afford to!

Well, I hope to get my sock done tonight and start on the pink pair for my swap sock. I have never done one before so I hope she likes what I knit! And then to finish Cassandras sweater..the one from the neck down...the one that I hate with a passion. The one I would throw in the woodstove in a second if she hadn't asked for this sweater and bought the pattern for it. Oh well.

I do have a couple of cardigans I want to knit for my DGD. I will post pictures when I get them done.

Well, time to go go some housework before DH gets home from work and complains we are still living out of the boxes I promised I would have put away yesterday! HA HA

And the library called today to day my JA Jance books they got for me are in. I love her books. I was buying them from Amazon.com, but I just don't have the money to do that any more either! So I do need to go and pick the 3 books up so I can read in bed at night again.

KNIT ON!!

Wool Socks

Well, winter is coming and we have finally moved back to town. Almost froze our asses of last night. The water line decided it didn't like the cold either. Had to leave it running all night!

I have been knitting socks from Bartlettyarns. I have about a dozen done so far. I want to do a craft fair next year just before Christmas and I am hoping to sell them there. I will have to get a new seller's certificate from the state, but that's not hard to do. Had one a few years ago but didn't renew it when they state changed things.

The cats are home and they are settling in tonight. I am the one who is pooped this year! Last year I had just had my right knee replaced so we moved down a month earlier then all the years before. DH had to do most of the packing and lugging. I was able to drive by then so he didn't have to find someone to drive the car home.

The mountain is covered in snow already! It makes for really cold winds when blowing from the north. Supposed to be 16 degrees here tonight..the lines would have frozen solid for sure...but they are all blown out and the anti-freeze is in so not going to worry about that tonight.

Hope to post some pictures of all the socks. They are all adult ones, so I have been doing a sock a day. Now that we are home, I am on the computer again, so I hope to be able to knitting at that pace when at camp.

Well, time for bed..night all and

KNIT ON!
